From what I hear he IS closing shop and would not take an order for a new pan. I hear he lost two long time employees and does not want to train new people, or possibly just a shortage of younger people who want to work hard and learn a trade. I saw Mancini quit carrying them on their website which is what prompted my inquiry as we are in need of two oil pans. Talked to a Canadian friend of mine and he told me the same. Hopefully I am wrong but did not sound good.

Thats sad to hear, but at age 74 it's probably time to take a vacation. It's to bad that he didn't have a guy that could have taken over the business .Like the above post, I also have seen the young guy's that seem to think that the cell phone is more important than the job there supposed to be doing.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

When I talked to charlie I asked if he was going to sell the business, He didn't think anybody would be interested in purchasing it, for whatever reason. I wish somebody who might have an interest would contact him before too much time passes. I have my hands full over here with gaskets

Guys like Charlie never fully retire so if the right person stepped up and bought it I'm sure he would do some consulting work. When you work that hard to get a quality company up and running for years, you would hate to see it die.
...Seems I remember YOU saying you were retired,,,,,maybe YOU could step up and set an example about "never fully retiring" and buy it??

Thats too bad.. I talked to Charlie a couple of times and he gave me some ideas on pans that I was building... he knew I was only making mainly stuff for myself... but he does deserve the retirement
