I don't want to alter the factory look but I considering LED tail lights and also want to know what there is out there for brighter head lights(stock appearance)
once you've stroked it,you'll wish you stroked it sooner

Hella H4/H1 conversion in 5 3/4 on mine. Worth every penny.

If you retain the stock wiring, you'll have the marginal gains due to the excessive voltage drop.
Look at my ad in the parts section for the relay kits I build. There is a picture of a cuda with stock lamps before and after relay installation on low beam. The kit hides pretty nicely in the stock wire runs. I've sold over 100 of them and everyone is very happy with the construction, performance and value.
Running a relay setup, wired properly, will improve the performance of your dash, markers and turn signal lights as well.
I would NOT pull headlight power from the starter relay unless you've done the bulkhead wire around.
A good H1, H4 setup on a 4 headlight car works well. 2 Headlight, grab an H4 halogen bulb like a GE nighthawk. Inexpensive and a good performer.
Taillights are tricky. Some of the LED's are rotten performers. These are supposed to be good, pricey compared to others. Philips 12899RX2

I put Eurospec Hella H4 housings with a glass lens on my 69 Charger. Two outboard ones have HID with ballasts and 6000k Hi/Lo. Phenomenal lighting with just that...If I need more lighting I hit the inboards as well which are regular H4 beams with 4000k (slightly yellow)..all are hooked into a dual ceramic harness and fed off two 40a relays connected to the battery and powered by a 100amp alternator
I love it...one of the best upgrades I have done
