I just put autolite 5224 plugs in my v10 and now I hear some pinging.I also read these plugs are hotter than the stock champions.az showed these as direct replacements but now I wonder if these are too hot.anyone else run these in a v10 with no pinging.

Talked to autolite tech support.they said the 5224 is generic for all the later magnum motors.if you tow or having detonation problems you can use the 3923 which is one heat range cooler.

the older truck V-10 is just a 5 cylinder magnum head, they are different from the viper motor v-10 and the newer srt ram v-10 motors(which is the same as the viper motor).

I run NGK 4291 plugs in the magnums and V-10 motor when "stockish"

2000 Dakota R/T, 408 magnum, 727, Indy heads
1000cfm 4150 carb, 93 octane fuel.
motor; 10.258 @ 132.78
200 shot; 9.262 @ 144.69
