Hey gang.. Anyone have experiences with the new FBO advance limiter plates? With this 426 Hemi I just put in the daytona, I'm finding out she's a different animal than my OEM 440. I am finding out the motor likes more than normal initial, but that obviously causes the total advance to be more. At the present time, I am using the Mr. G's light springs ( both ) and setting the timing to about 16 degrees. I have the vacuum connected to the pod as well. I am getting a total of nearly 40 with all this. The distributor doesn't advance without the vacuum when I rev it up to 2500 rpm. I am thinking as well I may be totally in already with the mechanical weights with the light springs and my need to go to replace one light spring with the smaller OEM spring. But, I like the theory of limiting the overall total with the plates while giving my motor as much initial timing as it likes..
thoughts?

I put one in the 340 in the Duster, pretty slick deal if your not into welding the slots up. Goes in real easy and give you a chance to clean and inspect everything

It's simple and works, although I found the advance I measured was off slightly compared to what they had marked, maybe 2 degrees, I don't recall and don't have my notes in front of me.

With both of the MR. G springs you'll all in by 1200. Try setting the timing @ 2500 with the vac. disconnected to about 35* then connect the vac. Your total then should be around 50 - 54*. don't worry about intial just set for total and see how it runs.
BTW I do like the idea of the FBO plate.
