Most data loggers use a 0-5v sensor so if racepac does then its just another sensor.. it could have another ground but I dont know their stuff

Just put a Racepak Sportsman in the car this winter.... I've got ALOT to learn! Cool seeing how high the converter flashes after tbrake release. Seeing actual shift rpm in relation to your shift light..... and noting how long my 1-2 shift was takng in relation to my 2-3..... Self inflicted hydraulic leak was slipping the band. Eventually I want to add oil psi, coolant temp, and one O2 sensor at least. I bought mine used at a lil savings...
When it comes to temps they use the standard K-type probes.. a 1/4" K-probe will work great.. just gonna need to weld a boss onto the radiator then use a 1/4" compression to 1/4" pipe fitting... you can look on line to find K-probes pretty cheap

So much valuable information can be gained with a racepak. I caught my high volume oil pump sticking and going over 130 pounds of pressure and when I tried switching from a milidon oil pan to a canton my oil pressure was dropping under 20 pounds of pressure when I left the Line on the trans brake.

Racepak is the best because they are almost impervious to noise. But you have to use their V-net sensors.
Rich... or anyone... is this V-net sensor anything special or is it just a 0-5 volt sensor.. how many wires on their sensors

Going on my 4th year with my racepak with zero issues on a car that is raced every weekend from April into November. Oil, O2, trans temp, water temp, fuel pressure, and all the ones that are included.

I have a odd ball unit.. called a "Informer" but its out of business.. but all the sensors are just standard stuff.. I happen to have a FEW of them left over from work.. thats pressure and temp sensors.. that unit gives me 18 channels(read outs).. I use most of them but 8 are EGTs... to be honest I wouldnt buy anything that needed special sensors... you can buy the standard 0-5v and K stuff on line pretty cheap

The basic sensor is a simple 0-5V sensor, but ... (there's always a "but" isn't there?) they use the V-net to make it dirt simple to add and remove sensors with no additional wiring. It's like a long daisy-chain or a CAN network, You just insert the V-net module anywhere in the network and it works. But that requires the V-net module electronics to communicate with the network. The sensor is simple but you still need the electronics interface.

Well I have been using Racepak stuff for probably 6 years now. Never had to replace a sensor on any of my cars. Their system MUST be run with their sensors as well. IMO there is NOTHING better than racepak for data logging. Their customer support is also awesome as well.

Racepak has the best reputation, but they are pricy. Don't be afraid to shop other brands. Be advised that sensors are addictive. I have 21 and want more.
