Thanks to everyone who replied to my March 4th post about my 70 440 stroker oil pressure going to 0 on occasion, As recommended by several people I installed an aftermarket oil gauge. I tapped into the alternate plug, and on the back of the block, and routed the plastic tube thru my ash tray, the gauge lays in the ash tray itself, and I can close the tray if I do not want the gauge to show. Anyway the factory gauge was the problem. the new one shows good oil pressure all the time, while the factory goes up and down whenever anytime it feels like it. Ill change out the sending unit at a later date and see if that corrects the factory gauge. I was sure relieved when I saw good oil pressure all the time. Im new to the forum and really appreciate all the helpful people out there. Thanks Again

I would definitely change out the plastic tubing for copper tubing. There is a kit available to you can just buy bulk tubing for it. Plastic is not a good thing to use. Very fragile and flammable/meltable if close to heat. Not legal to use in sanctioned racing.

X2 on the brass tubing & use care assembling the brass fittings (& sealer) & check the threads & the barrell compression fitting/everything needs to be kosher/good visual/no burrs/crimps. An oil leak inside on your carpet ain't pretty

Should not use sealer or tape on threads. These are flare fittings not pipe thread.Only one that can use tape or sealer is the fitting into the block oil galley which is pipe thread.

Correct, sealer or tape is only required on NPT but I use some permatex #3 form a gasket (its thin) sparingly on the brass inverted flare fittings just to further insure no leaking into the dash/carpet
