I have a 69 c body with typical rust belt rust at the torsion bar rear mount. Is there any interchangeably with other body styles frame rails torsion bar mounts and transmission x piece. I would like to use a commercial doubler plate like those made by auto rust technicians. However there are none available, other alternatives are plate fab or Donner cars. Hope this is posted in the correct place

Check with Auto Rust Technicians. They make that type of unit plus other repair pieces. They are out of Delaware or Rhode Island if I remember correctly.

Only repairs for this a replacement sub frame out of a 69-71 Chrysler that is rust free or build the plates for it your self

Back in the day I took a 1/4" thick piece of steel about 18"x 3.5". Had the torsion bar anchor that was ripped out of the frame welded into a hole I torched through the plate (I couldn't weld at the time). Then drilled 2 holes to match the trans cross member bolt location. Bolted it in, drove that car a long time like that.

Can you find out how much different the other model Auto Rust Tech mounts are from what you need for the C-body?

I have some E-body Auto Rust Tech torsion bar mount caps out in the garage if you need some dimensions. It may just need a cut and a new piece spliced in to make it work. Not ideal, but potentially an option nonetheless.

If you're not too concerned with how it looks after, making some out of some 1/8 steel isn't that hard. Ive done it a couple times never had an issue.

Trouble is the frame rails are shot too.
Unless your resto shop is good at fabricating such things,
you really need another sub frame.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.
