That would be both surprising and disappointing... I hope it's not true.

I seriously doubt this. They were at Indy, and Dave Hughes said they were having a good day. They wouldn't be closing and attending the event.

These are good people to deal with for sure.

How did this rumor start?

Seems to me if you were closing, the ideal thing to do would be to go where you could flog a lot of stuff fast - like the Indy event !!!

They didn't bring stuff to Indy to sell. They had demo stuff showing products, porting, capabilities ect.

I don't know how this stuff starts, but why keep it going? Just call them. I had breakfast with Dave the owner. They aren't closing.

Ive worked at places where our competitors would tell people we were either closing or are closed. People would call in and ask and sometimes it took some serious convincing to change their minds.

You never know. My Dad was the service manager at a dealership. Got to work one morning (first one there- turned on the compressors, lights, coffee pot, etc.) and his key wouldn't open any of the doors. Went to a pay phone to call the owner and surprise! Owner had came in late the previous night with a locksmith and changed the locks. No one in the dealership had any idea he was planning to shut the doors and walk away.

Nice one Dale.
Hughes Engines is not closing. We are growing and adding new parts & products every day. We are actually advertising right now for a full time employee. We have no intentions of going anywhere anytime soon. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and saw us at INDY and for all of you guys on here that use our parts. If we get some extra help here at the shop we hope to spend more time on the forums giving tech advice and chatting.

I dont hope for any company to close but sometimes you
HAVE to go through a dealer so you dont have to put
up with the BS.. Indy makes some decent stuff but they
do have a BS customer service... like NONE... and yes
I see you have a smiley
EDIT
I'm glad to hear that Hughes isnt closing

I asked a prominent Mopar engine builder if Indy treats them (dealers for their product) the same way they treat individuals. He laughed and laughed and said "yep!".

Glad to see Hughes is going strong. They are are a great source of parts and information.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.
