With the RB block being a deep skirt design, are there any benefits to running a kick out?
Case in point is a friends 572 that I am making an oil pan for.
What are people's experiences?
Thanks in advance!

I remember Dave Koffel milling out the entire side of a 400 block between the pan rail and main web C/L on a comp motor back in the day. The pan bucket then attached to the side of the block. This was on early B-1 stuff.

The kick out is so low in the sump that the only advantage would seem to be more volume and ground clearance.
