Oh
Anyone know of someone looking for an original motor and trans for a 38 Ply coupe. A friend has one for sale in the engine section.

He is rodding the 38 and is installing a 354 hemi so he doesn't need it.
Also does anyone have a photo of a stock rear spring pack ??
He is thinking his have been changed because the car sits REALLY high in the back.
I told him I thought it was a stack of 8 springs was stock.
Thanks David

from what i remember in my 38, 8 skinny leaves sounds correct for stock. i think i removed the 2 shortest ones for a better ride. 1980 was a couple of years back.........

354 is gonna be a tight fit, is he planning on no hood sides?

I put a 360 in my 38 coupe years ago and it was a snug fit.

As for the leafs, that sounds about stock to me. BTW, I put a 79 Newport 9 1/4 in my 38, almost perfect fit. Stock leafs are like 2" wide, Newport's are 2.5", so the perches need addressing, however you decide to go with the leafs. I ended up putting the Newport's front suspension in, after I sectioned about 4" out of it as it is too wide stock.

Don't be the exception.
