Posted this in the truck section also. Want to get as much feed back as possible. My LOW mileage (13K)Ram is stuck in 4th. Won't shift out. Engine light is also on. The only way to get it to shift, is the stop the engine and restart. Then it's okay for a short distance and then it gets stuck in 4th again.. Any idea as to what is causing this. I've had absolutely no issues with this truck since I bought it. This is a complete blindside since I really love the truck......Please help. Thanks
4 speed street legal. Best time 10.99 @ 124 mph on 93 octane pump gas @ 3926# total weight

I did buy it new. Was hoping to not have to deal with a dealer. Maybe as a last resort...
4 speed street legal. Best time 10.99 @ 124 mph on 93 octane pump gas @ 3926# total weight

Why buy a new truck then? It's under warranty..it's their issue not yours...that's what you paid(a lot) for!

you all got me beat. my 2012 ram currently has shy of 30K (got it with only 7K a year ago..) today I parked on a hill and the stupid thing started ROLLING backwards. not sliding, but actually rolling.

Sounds like the trans is in limp mode. When you shut it off and restart it the truck trans will work until it sees the problem again and then it goes into the limp mode that locks it in a certain gear which should actually be second or third on yours. Have it scanned and see what the code is first and then go from there. Ron
