72 Charger 383/4-speed. History: About a year ago, during a burnout (w/some braking), the u joint bolts snapped, the drive shaft broke loose and damaged the yoke. I could smell the clutch pretty bad and the smell lingered the whole time until the wrecker showed up (as the driver commented on it). Anyways, I finally got the pig swapped out and u-joints replaced and everything back together and I noticed the clutch pedal was down to the floor and figured it just needed adjusting from the aftermath.. anyways.. I adjust the adj rod to the very end, about 2" worth and the pedal just now is coming of the floor. I have run out of adjustment and the clutch is still not disengaging.. Did I also ruin the pressure plate? Any suggestions with out tearing it all down? Appreciate any info or opinions.. Thanks

My . You need a NEW clutch assembly. Disc, Pressure plate, throwout bearing, and maybe the flywheel resurfaced while you have everything torn down. Too much work to cheep out on replacing only one item with the hopes that it will work when back together. Again my . Good luck

Showoff burnouts can be expensive.

Yeah, I had less than a 1K miles on it. Granted they were fun and hard miles lol. Was just hoping I missed something. I've adjusted burnt/worn clutches a few time over the years, but nothing acted like this.. Guess I'll tear 'er down.

Thanks, Jimmy
