Mine does not. It goes on the air intake on the radiator support

I have seen those on some, and not on others. I guess it depends on how well the hole was hacked into the core support...

ademon meant the opening in the core support made by GSD, they were crude to say the least!

Yes, Both of my 72's have them. It is how the air filter element canister attaches to the radiator support on the passenger side. That is a required piece to be correct.

Mine has no mounting holes for one. The air cleaner was bolted to the fender apron.
