Hi,
What is the reason for a cab spacer? Does it improve performance or is it just to lift the cab higher?

Thank you,
Joe

Both... a 1/2" is basically to just lift the carb..
the 1" and 2" open add to the plenum volume... the
4 hole adds both some volume and carb signal velocity

A carb spacer almost always adds horsepower. Moving the carb away from the bottom of the intake manifold makes it easier for the air to make the turn.

I've used up to a 4 inch carb spacer when dyno testing.

Joedee, I don't know your combo but the one inch tapered 4 hole spacer called the 'Super Sucker' is one of the best ones to try for most combos.

A low down of your engine will help determinate if
a spacer would help... on most stock engines it most
likely wont do anything... but once you stroke a
engine the intake tends to be to small except for
some of the tall ones... even then a spacer might
help

Myself I took two 1/2 inch spacers and drilled two holes in the sides for a pressure relief valve in each because of the intake im running...Stories of fuel puddling inside crossrams then grenading the tops had me looking for a way to save a rare old intake..I hope it works..

If you love someone set them free..
If they come back it means nobody else wanted them either..!!

Its gonna take a lot of surface area to save that
manifold on a back fire... more than a couple of 1"
holes... a back fire makes good pressure and you
have lots of flat areas(weak points)
EDIT
A couple of 2" X 3" spring loaded blow off panels
(one on each end of the manifold) would work
