I will probably need the tranny rebuilt in my 2001 CTD and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations in the St. Louis area. The truck is mobile and I will probably be going to High Tech Transmissions for a look-see later this week. They have a shop that is close to me in Greenville, IL. The guy that I talked to is named Lonnie who is a self proclaimed "old guy" and evidently a Mopar drag racer. http://www.hytechtrans.com/?gclid=CNLhuMG2vMMCFW5o7AoduA0AVgThanks

Whats wrong with yours? Is it noisy or grinding going into any of the gears? I have rebuilt many of them but I'm about 2 hrs west of St Louis.

Well, here's the deal. It is a new to us/old truck and I probably am not used to the tranny. The clutch does seem fine, it begins to engage almost immediately. It does grind on occasion when going into reverse and can be difficult to get into gear when up and down shifting.
Lots of threads out there about changing to an Amsoil fluid. I think that I will just let this guy take it for a ride and see what he thinks about the shifting. It's no where near ready to grenade.
Thanks
