Which is better or which one do you recommend for a 1200hp drag car. The strange s60 or the moser m60

Google M60? Tanks and Guns

Google S60? Volvo

Might be a little more specific.

Strange or Moser versions of the Dana 60.

PM Dr. Diff. I'm using the S-60 from him and have had no issues.

What ever your preference is or which you can get cheaper. Also at that level I assume spool, girdle cover and 40spline...don't forget to price check against a 9"

I'd go w/ the S60 only b/c they have side adjusters for the carrier bearings...the M60 does not.
I have an M60 in my cuda...been beating on it since 2003 w/ no trouble at all running in the 9s at 3800-3900 lbs.

We are running the Moser 60 but I do like the side adjusters on the Strange.

And in that check specify the 9 with 12 bolt center, otherwise you're giving up efficiency to a Dana 60.

My S60 is sitting at home. Can't wait to get out of the hospital and over it. I had bought a 1969 Dana 60, but by the time I switch over stuff to how I want it, I would have been spending a lot more on the old Dana than a brand new unit. It was marked from the favored as 3.54s but ended up being 410s. I went with 373's in the new unit. Just gotta detail my springs andn switch out the old setup.a new driveshaft will help with the changeover fro23 to18 spline transmission. The The

Thanks Dr. Diff!!! Will be ordering a disc brake kit from him soon also.

Build us a comparable 9" street/strip rear end right here in this thread and show us how it's done. I'm all ears.

X2 I haven't had a chance to beat on mine yet, but it bolted right in using the specs that I gave Cass. It has been trouble free for 500 miles now. Which reminds me I need to get the break in oil out of there. I'll be getting my 408 in front of it this summer and can't wait!

who cares the guy asked for a rear for a 1200hp drag car. and it can be done cheap for a street strip. just as easy as a dana.

x3 I am anxiously awaiting my S60 I ordered from Dr. Diff.
Strange was out of the gears I ordered and as soon as he found out I received a phone call. Awesome customer service.
When I built my dragster years ago. I used Moser. They are/were great to work with also. I have no complaints. I went with the good Dr. Because he had the best price and shipping. Just my

Hope this helps,

The value of an S-60 can't be beat for a street/strip application, especially for a leaf spring vehicle.

COMPLETE 35 spline S-60 assembly with S-Trac differential $2245

Aluminum S-9" third-member ONLY with 28 spline street gears, and 35 spline S-Trac differential $2000

A 9" third-member does not surpass the strength of a Dana 60 assembly until you upgrade it to a drag race only 35 spline 9.5" gearset ($$).

probably so if you buy it new and built ready to install. if you do most of the work way less. i'll take a built 9" over a dana any day and will handle more power. you can't brace the tubes on a dana

so, you can buy a junk yard 9" housing for $50 if you look around you may even find one with disc brakes. narrow it back brace you are ready. axles are a wash. you can find used 9" chunks all over the place cheap.

Bottom line, you run what you want and everyone else will too.
