At the rate you are going I'm figuring late 2016.

I couldn't resist.

Correct, one that's before the engine assembly date, a couple weeks to a couple months would be generally acceptable

Well since its a warranty block, I wonder what that means? Maybe an over the counter replacement with no date code.

Most often the best description for a block without a VIN or assembly date is "Service Replacement" or "Parts" block. It would only be considered a "Warranty" block if it is accompanied by paperwork that ties it to a particular car getting a replacement block (or short block, etc.) as a replacement while under warranty. As far as your date coded fuel filter, get one dated in February 1970 or so and you should be good.

Awesome info here Scott. I didn't realize that. Thanks. I think you meant February 70.

I'd run a clear one for your break in and the first 50-100 miles and then switch to the proper filter, hoses and keystone clamps, I plan to do that any time now.

That makes sense. That'll keep me from buying two correct ones. Ya'll are so smart. Thanks Kevin.
