one works, just runs a little faster than two. don't use grease or oil on the bushings, to mount them. use some graphite, or non petroleum lubricant. a set at the parts store costs just a few bucks.

One random tip a parts store guy gave me a long time ago. Run a windshield wiper that is just one size shorter than stock and the motor does a much much better job of moving it around. It made a pretty big difference on my 73 W200 compared to the stock length.
