My understanding is that they are fully machined
I'm thinking that they (Fiat) is probably waiting to see how many orders to fill before the production starts? 
At the price that they were quoting they will sell a bunch. IMO
I asked the guy that took my order, and he said they come 4.055 finished, ready for parts, but do not have cam bearings installed.

Thanks for the info guys! I am going to have to call my local dealer and see what they price it at...Between the shipping for the block from a place like factory mopar direct and the HORRID exchange rate we have right now in Canada, I am thinking it might actually be cheaper to buy it through a local dealer.

This is very upsetting news for me. I would assume Dave has some contacts at Chrysler. I have cancer and june is just not acceptable. I think it is terrible that we have no way to talk to who ever has direct information on this and things like this. I can think of no other business that I deal with that you cannot get direct contact with them. Where did Zippy go? Anybody have any idea on how to get correct information. I wish I was at some national event to try and talk to Roy or other "factory racers". Will try to contact Barton tomorrow to see if has info.

I ordered one on the Monicatti website, a few days later they emailed saying that the blocks weren't available and that they were refunding my card.
Indy cylinder head has new 6.1 blocks available for $1995 if anyone needs one that bad
