If you have even and odd numbers on rear springs what side does the even one go on? By the way these are 20 1/2 inch front segment and 4 leafs each 3/8 thick,with different arches, ever heard of springs like this? 2589334-35 never been used.

The oval track springs are offered in thicker material than the stock springs sets, so that would explain the 3/8" thickness. The 20.5 front segment also point towards an oval track spring as A body and Super Stock springs are 20" and regular B/E springs are 22". Part numbers don't jive with oval track springs though, so maybe they are either an old set with a different numbering schema or from the original company making them up for Mopar. FWIW, current Mopar part numbers are P4529415 for 1" arch and P4529414 for zero arch.

Sorry, put the wrong number in, p2539334 & p2539335 set up like the ss springs with different archs. Original stickers and wired together, never used.
Might add they are the same length as a-body just pin 1/2 inch farther back

The P in the part number denotes a performance part rather than a replacement part, but the numbers are throwing me off. What do you mean by different arches like an SS? Oval track springs are arched, but are considerably flatter than even stock springs whereas an SS spring pack has a lot more arch to them than stock. If these are highly arched, then I'm at a loss.

Maybe they are old Walker Evans style off road racing springs? Might need someone with access to old performance parts catalogs from the early 90s/late 80s to help with P prefix truck part IDs.

OK went and laid them out for the arch, i put a string center hole to center hole and measured at the pin , 335 is 3 1/2, 334 is 2 1/4, these numbers are where the housing sets on the spring. I'm using on a 73 Barracuda, been tubed, big tall tire. When i picked these up they reminded me of a set that a 64 AFX car had and the guy offered to me free(didn't take,dummy me)3/8 inch thick but maybe had 5 leafs. When did Chrysler start with the P prefix they seem older than 80s? The 20 1/2 front segment is weird, more a-body than b-e-body. They 64-65 springs are 21 1/2 stock so maybe they did this to get a 1 inch shorter wheel base?

Finally had a chance to look this up in an older Mopar book of mine. P2539334 and 335 are old, 70s era, Grand National oval track, stock car springs. Spring rate is 275#. That explains the thicker leaves, arch measurements, and 20.5" front segment. There is also a P2539336 in the set(that you don't have). The differing arches among the three would allow them to tune the arch to the track for the desired wedge to compliment the front set up.

For sake of comparison, the Hemi style XHD springs are around 160# rate and SS springs are around 180# rate. These are massive springs you have and a bit of a rarity to them. I don't think they would be worth much unless you could sell them to someone restoring an original, competitive wing car, and they would likely only be correct for a mid-length track or a highly banked short track. Some of the Super Speedway cars ran upwards of 400# rates on the rear.

If you use them on your '73 Cuda, you will need the special oval track hanger made by AR Engineering to keep the axle in the stock position. You could use SS hangers, but that will put the axle half an inch back and may require a longer drive shaft. It also will ride like an unloaded 1 ton truck, so you'd better step up to some REALLY good shocks to control them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for that info. Not sure what i'll do now, but no axle wind up with these(like ladder bars i guess) lol. Hangers are not an isue i made new frame rails for the a-body size(20 inch)

No problem. I'm glad I was finally able to decipher it. Yeah, theses probably won't have any axle wrap problems. You could certainly start out with them. Probably need to use a Rancho RS9000 shock to dial in the control they are going to require, then in the future swap over to something more in line with what you want.

The market is slim, but there maybe some guys interested in them for the historical perspective. There are a few old roundy rounders on here and I think a couple that have old wing cars. Look for some names in the stock car picture post in the general section. Might also check the aero section on dodgecharger.com

It would be good to get these on one of those cars for a restoration, they are in great shape and i don't have much in them. I'll hold off on using them for now. Thanks again
