Yesterday I think I had the chance to "steal" a 6.4 hemi truck engine with 4000 miles on it so I did. Now I have been trying to find info on it but not much luck so far.Any body got a lick to a real indepth article on this engine. What heads did they use or are they unique to this engine? Should have a strong rod and piston. Any info on this engine would be appreciated.

Just assuming here but same block as srt. Heads are eagle, crank is the same as srt.
Try Googling ALLPAR.

Sounds like a nice package to start with, why was it pulled with 4K on it?

Which year and version is your new motor? I have no idea what is available on that motor in that size

Since when do they put Eagle heads on a 6.4 instead of the Apache? The chambers are entirely different between the two because of the bore difference; the 6.4 chamber diameter is huge.

Motor came out of 2014 3/4 pickup. suppose to be 410 hp 429 torque. Have a very good friend in salvage business. Been a mopar man whole life and he desided it was time I finally had my hemi. Got it for less than most listed 5.7s. Now I just want to know what I really got!!!

Because the 6.4 truck is different. It's made for torque.
I could be wrong and have been in the past but I don't see them putting a more expensive head on a truck block.
IF I am right then the piston chamber is different.

I am coming to the conclusion that not only me but no one else really knows lots of true specs and parts used on this engine. Lots of thoughts but nothing concrete. like from what I have found lots of the torque came from the dual runner intake and I am sure a tamer cam grind. I was really hoping to learn what head or head modification were done as I have read 270 intake flow. That is what i saw from the orginal 5.7 head and 300 or 310 was a stock 6.1 head. I guess I'll know when I get it apart and look and flow head. Maybe a casting number. Thanks so far from the reply's and please if anyone has info please forward. Going to try this on lx forum now.

Left head Part# 68238141AA Right head Part# 68238142AA.
First used 2014 and also used on 2015 trucks. That's all I can tell from Star Parts.

If it has Eagle heads on it (09 up 5.7) they flow what a 6.1 head does but with a smaller port. You're right that no one seems to know a whole lot on these motors

2011-2014 604L car Right head part# 68086555AA Left head is part# 68086556AA. So the car heads are no the same part# as the truck head. Doesn't mean they may not be the same casting.

I actually work at CTC, so I tracked down one of the engineers a few weeks ago to ask about these.

Heads are the same casting as a 6.4 SRT, but use sodium filled exhaust valves, different valve spring package, and better valve seat material for durability.

The blocks are SLIGHTLY different, but there is some talk about commonizing them right now, so there must not be too much difference for it to be considered (I dont' know if they were talking about using the truck block in the SRT, the SRT block in the truck, or some combination of both). I do know that the 6.4L truck motors have oil squirters, but I'm not sure if the 6.4L SRT motors do.

If I remember what he said correctly, the cranks are different, but I can't swear to it.

Hope that helps!

Same part# on the crank in both the car and truck engines.

The 6.4 truck engines also have an egr with a cooler under the intake.you probably want to delete that stuff.
