I've been doing a few things to the old Dodge. Getting closer to a paint date (?). This go around I got tired of the hole in my cab for filling the tank behind the seat. So I filled it. Also, I really didn't like the way Dodge did their filler necks on the side of the bed. So I found a wrecked '08 truck, cut out the fuel filler area, and grafted it into my bed. Fitment was a bit tight, but it worked. Here's a few pics. Now for the shameless plug for Wions body shop on La Grand Ave in Sacramento. Jimmy (the owner, and good friend) did the body work on this project. I'm very happy with his work. He's been doing body work sense he was a teen. Thanks Jimmy!

Why is dual exhaust easier with the internal tank? Is the cab slightly longer or something to give just a little extra room? I am just about to do exhaust. I just started my motor on Saturday and only have straight headers at this point. It is a Utiline step side pick up and I am going to do dual exhaust, straight out the back. I have the internal tank. I don't physically have it in the truck, but I have the tank and the provision to install it if I wanted. I don't mean to steal this guys thread. PM me if you would like or I can start another thread. Very nice work on the fabrications, BTW. Is there another string with more pictures or can you post some more. I would love to see a little more of your truck. Quote:
looks great. personally I wish mine had the tank in the cab, would make dual exhaust easier.

looks like dual exhaust to me. that's how i did the dakota. flowmaster 40 dual inlet/outlet, dual pipes.
Yep, here in the confused state of Kalif. it's the only way I could go with a '76! But it sounds damn good, and flows nice. I just got to figure a way to put some headers on it. Everyone that hears it, swears it's a big block.

That is a really clean looking truck. I took some screen shots of the exhaust. That is exactly what I was think for the routing. How did you come out of the back? I plan on using an extra set of gun barrel tips from my '72 Charger. Kind of like the current Hemi trucks without impressions in the bumper. Kind of spread them out so I can still get the spare in and out. I was thinking that as soon as they go over the axle, they both make turns towards the outside of the truck and then follow the frame to the rear. I will see when I get the truck on the lift with my exhaust guy.
