I had these 1.6 Hughes roller tip rockers under the Chrome Eddy valve covers that are just a tad taller then stock. Ron

These are the Eddy covers I used as I painted them orange. They fit with no problem under them. Ron

Yes they have a baffle under the oil cap or PCV grommet hole. Not a real big baffle but it covers the hole area and a bit more. I still have them out in my garage as I went to different covers so if you need I can take a pic of the underside of them and show you the baffle ? Ron

Thanks for the offer Ron.On my engine the adjusters just touch the baffles without a gasket, clear with a gasket, but I haven't started the engine yet so the hyd. lifters haven't pumped up yet,so I'm not sure if they will clear.

You know not thinking as my heads are the basic Indy EZ heads and I did not ask what heads you are using ? It may also make a difference. What heads are you using ? Ron

440 Source. Now that I think about it,I also had to shim under the rocker shafts to get the pushrod angle right so that would make it that much closer.I finished & installed the engine 5 years ago & never started it.But because of my combination of parts I think I'll just have to figure it out.

I know racers that use two sets of gaskets, one glue to the head and the other glue to the rocker cover so they can remove the covers without ripping or tearing the gaskets up. They use chassis grease as a lube between the two mating surfaces I've double gaskets in the past to gain cleanrces also, another way to get additional clearances is to either dimple where they hit the baffles with hammmer or use a small hloe saw to cut a hole where they hit Lots of different ways to skin the kitty : whistling:
