I'm going to be building a 478 & was thinking twin turbos until I went over to a buddy's shop & was talking about the CTD variable vane turbos & he says "we've went Whipple you want to buy three ProCharger F3s setup for Hemis"

I want a streetable low 9 1/4 ride he said they make 60 lbs boost right now & has multiple cog sets to change the boost

Any input will be greatly accepted Thanks ahead

First thing you would need to know is what size F3 units they are. Making 60lbs I assume it would be a 139 or a newer 136. Are they geardrive or belt?

One day I will have something cool here.

I passed on a F1 a few years ago.. was very cheap
and I would have had to build the mounting plate..
I'm sorry I did.. but I didnt have the money

If you only want to run bottom 9's you sure won't have to spin it hard but will need a stout engine. 30lbs of boost on my f2 gets me bottom 7's @3300lbs.

It depends on what model F3 you're looking at. For the goals you have in mind, I would recommend you stay away from the newer designs F3's (121, 130,136). They are very efficient, but in order for them to work correctly you will have to spin them hard. If not, the supercharger will be very lazy down low and become extremely temperamental to tune. One minute no boost and the next second 20lbs.

The engines they came off of made over 1800 horse each & were run fat never leaned out far enough to find out what they really made

The F3 is a serious unit and only a small part of the overall build , its like buying a propeller for a airplane .

Steve Morris has a SBC kit for $6000 you might get him to modify it but that will cost $$&$ also . Charge tube and v-bands can start at $500 and go to $2000 depending on how many clamps and if you have a inter cooler ( air - water will set you back $2000 for the box , water tank ,pump and hose ) If you go with a carburetor is a minimum of $1300 for car and hat for a good one is way over $2000 working . If you want to go EFI look at around $3500- $10,000 .

Your are looking at a minimum of $9000 and for the good stuff, around $17,000 to $20,000 .

For a carb fuel delivery you will need some sort of data logging system so add a extra $1000 -$2000+ for that .
Along with a good converter $1200-$2800
You have to make sure your transmition is good so throw away your 727 and put a t-400 or glide in $$$$ . Rear end and drive shaft $$$ . And so on .
There are some thrifty MF's out there that will barnyard their builds and say it will cost 1/2 but they are easy to spot a mile away . If you want to put on a power adder just to cruise around a act cool then so be it ,there are plenty of shops that will sell shiney parts .

The 139 needs a bearing in it but not one of the two big ones
I get the pumps, blocks & injectors all of it

I would call and make sure they can still be rebuilt ans still have parts avaible. Those blowers were replaced by the 136 a couple yrs ago.

One day I will have something cool here.
