i guess theres nothing wrong with a prefab kit, but i would personally use as much OEM stuff as i could. are teh parts really that hard to find for an a-body?

Brewers has complete kits. You can find some on ebay too or you can scroung up all of the parts individually, like I did. Jamie Passon www.passonperformance.com has all the parts as well and is a great guy to deal with

if your patient you can find all the parts needed to convert either here in the for sale section or on ebay.

i wound up buying a parts car for less than the cost of buying all the parts separately, but i got lucky. havent seen a 4 speed parts car since.

When I did the swap before in an A-body, I got the steering column, floor hump, pedals, Z-bar, etc. all from a donor car. The only thing I bought new was clutch kit, pilot bushing, throw-out bearing, and other misc. clips and bushings.
