Anyone know what the number stamped on top of the block means? I am trying to pull the trigger on a motor. Trying to figure out all the info I have about it.

It a lot of $ for me. And we are haggling on a price. It is a Mopar crate motor, and I verified today that it is most definitely a World block. Did I mention it's a lot of money for me? And to me it's not a home run no brainer at this price.

Oh the dog. He is probably better at knocking doors down. But gates he can open. More an old lug head now.

It's more than likely a reference number back to the builder of the engine. Being a world block it wasn't built by Cummins Recon ... like the piece of junk I ended up buying ... so it should be ready to go out of the crate.

The thing is though that it probably doesn't have a warranty, I would want to hear it run and see an oil pressure reading, or at least talk to the shop that built it.

It's still in the crate. I have sent all the data I can gather to BMP asking if they can tell me the build date and any info they may have. Seems some had non-ARP main studs. I am sure it has not been ran since it was built. It is still on the crate and has the instructions for startup. Any ideas on what is a good price? It's the iron head 426 465hp.

Full rack is is either 14.5 or 15.5 right now, if I was the seller I wouldn't have taken 10k. I'll buy every one that is available for 8-10k, all day , everyday , send me the contact info ...

$14,000, that's fourteen-thousand dollars for 465 horsepower. I would laugh at him.

Build that same exact 426 from scratch and get back to us on the cost. All NEW PARTS, NOTHING USED.

Some people simply don't understand that sometime it's the "presence" of it being a Hemi is what some other people want.

There are different types of bragging rights, owning a Hemi is one, getting the most HP for the least $$ is another.

The OP didn't post this in the race section asking what will get him the most horsepower for the cheapest price.
He asked questions on what's a deal on a Hemi.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol
