I have a 2005 town and country and the battery died so I hooked the charger up and when i turned the charger on the radiator fan turned on with engine cold, so I looked for relay in fusebox but there isnt one so I unpluged the fuse to turn it off and charge battery. was looking for the fan thermo switch(or what ever you call it)hidden on the motor or radiator but cant find it anywhere. If someone knows specificly where it is or if it is something else causing the problem I would be greatly appreciative, sorry this isnt an old mopar question but didnt know where else to go. thanks

Can't answer why your fan turned on but you should never charge a battery with the cables hooked up.

I'm not sure on that year but it could be the after
run fan timer is bad(when you shut the car off the fan
continues to run for X amount of minutes then shuts
off)

Where did you hear that? I think somone misled you. I've been in this businees for 50 years and never had any problems charging a battery with the cables still hooked up.

the fan relay is mounted on top of the steel bumper behind the front facia. remove the upper radiator support and look down. Looks almost like a lego block.

I think it's on the drivers side of the radiator. It is usually black with blue sticker and has a 3 or 4 wire connector on it.

That should be correct for that year as I just remove the facia to get at it. The relay is controlled by the PCM which just uses the coolant temp sensor readings to turn the fan on. Ron

When you do replace the relay it is very important to secure it tight to the mounting area. Heat is displace from the relay to the frame to keep it cool.
