Wanting to put running boards on 2005 1/2 ton reg cab Ram. Does anyone know What years will interchange? Found a few for sale locally but they're off a later model with Quad Cab.

02-08 1500's and 03-08 2500/3500's should all be the same from my experience. Basically anything off a Gen 3 should fit right up, doubtful Gen 4's will work.

The ones I've seen use a bracket that the tube bolts to and the bracket mounts to the body mounting bolts. They always seem to break off the bolt that mounts the tube to the brackets. Make sure you get the brackets, then hopefully your cab mounting bolts will come out without breaking. I know some of the older cab mounting bolts used to mount the tube brackets don't come out very well sometimes.

Also, look the bottom and the ends of the tubes over real good, that is where they rot out. Replacing that piece the bolt screws into, on the end of the tube that mounts the tube to the bracket, is a pita. Gene

I just bought and installed these from Ebay. Went on in 30 minutes and are solid as a rock with my 190lbs bouncing on them. My 5'2" wife loves them.

Mine came with longer bolts to replace the factory bolts. Took about an hour to do both. I assume you have a regular cab?

In my first response, I didn't see you had a regular cab. I was under the impression you were looking to put 09+ QC boards on an 05 QC. I don't believe QC running boards will fit on a regular cab. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Quad cab and regular cab running boards are entirely different.

Thanks for all the replies. I may look into some off Ebay if I cant find any decent ones locally. Just don't want any that are rusty or have broken off/ stripped bolts.

$105 for brand new shipped to your door is a pretty good price.

Im thinking about the same ones you bought. How do they attach....to the cab bolts or to the rocker panel?

Cab bolts. Look below the description box on the ad I provided for complete instruction video. Super easy install and solid as a rock. I did do the extra support a little differently. You could drill a hole for the inside of the front brace but I just butted it up against the frame and it works fine.
