My setup is currently at the machine shop. They informed me that my aluminum heads have some corrosion in the exhaust ports from using RACE gas.Intake ports are clean. They said it is pretty common. Should I be worried?
I run Sunoco 112 with 13.5 compression and 35 degrees of timing.

It use to freak me out every time I had my 451 apart, heads looked terribly corroded on the intake and the exhaust sides, and they were cnc ported/polished. It looked like chunks of aluminum were sand blasted off. Motor ran 9's for many years though and plugs always looked good.

Interesting, I saw this on a friend's 440 we had the heads off of over the summer, the 2 center exhaust ports had a build up. He runs 110 Sunoco all the time and its a street car.

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat
Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

Prosport, mine are only corroded on the exhaust but also some in the combustion chamber also. Pretty much everywhere the gas is being burnt.
This is a race car only and I do use Nitrous a few time a year but only up to 250 HP shot and it is a conservative tune up with plenty of timing retard.
It does have a sand blasted look to it!

My plugs always look good.

I don't think it's from the gas, it's from condensation. IMO

Aluminum heads condensate much more than iron heads. Being a race engine it has a lot heating and cooling cycles which leave moisture. Then it sits and corrodes.

Just don't lick the head and you will be fine

I see it when folks bring engines and or heads that have been sitting a long time or sitting in damp trailer etc
Water/ weather not fuel IMO
Clean 'em up keep moving no worry
