Adapter to block I got a thick paper gasket in the kit - didn't know another gasket went under the bolt head, got a nylon looking one and a thick cork gasket same size that may be used elsewhere ? Just want to get the gaskets right.

So the thick cork one goes over the bolt - between the adapter and the block ? I have two Haynes manuals as well as "How to Rebuild Small Block Mopars" and I got nuthin' as far as instructions.

Thin gasket under the head of the bolt, thick cork gasket on the bolt between the adapter and the block. Tighten down snug or it will leak. Mike

Awright then - I'll re-do it, but I'm going to waste the paper gasket that goes between adapter and block when I pull it apart - can I use silicone only when I reinstall - or am I going to have to order another gasket ?

you might get the fel pro(the large round one) gasket for this, it's thicker, clean the block recess well & use some gasket sealer(permatex #2 is my fav). Oil leaks aren't fun to redo
