2014 Ram 2500 bought new in April. Had it in for a free oil change in July...they said that they needed to "flash" the radio to upgrade the software or something. All that they managed to do was to erase the memory and ever since, it intermittently loses memory...I have lived with it...figured it was just me not being smart enough to run my radio! I got a recall notice a couple of weeks ago saying that the radio needed flashed..so, I took it in for another "free" oil change and to flash the radio. 3 hours later they gave me my truck back...said that "something" happened to the radio and it doesn't work at all now!!! They said that they had to order a new radio...of course Chrysler seemingly can't come up with a radio... Any one else experience this?

It worked fine before the so called upgrades... So now, no U connect phone, no backup camera, no fine tuning of trailer brakes, etc. Radio not working is just a small part of it.

I'm taking my 2014 1500 in for a freebie oil change soon. I'll make sure they don't upgrade the radio.

My buddy has the same problem with his 2014. Changes channels and turns off on its own. He also had the dealership update it when it was in the shop. I think he too is now waiting on a new radio from Dodge.

Probably needs another updated flash. There have been a few updates this year, The latest one came out october 30th. numerous service bulletins about radio issues.new flash every couple months.

I got my 2014 Journey with the 8.4nav, etc . . . drove it for 150miles, then screen kept saying "Disc Error" ! I never even put a disc into the player !!! . . . went back to dealership and they had to replace the whole unit . . . service manager said that Mopar had issues with these in virtually all the vehicles !!! It is 2014, shouldn't they have electronics figured out by now ??? Touch screens have been around in industry for like 25 years !!! Guess that is what happens when the bean counters tell the engineers/manufacturing what to do !!! . . .

So if you have a "new" rig, that you love and want to keep, do you pay the money for extended warranty ????
