How rare are the red plastic inner fenders on a 68 Barracuda?
And were they an option on 67 and 69's also.
Pretty rare from the few individuals I've talked too...I've had a handful, and I mean only a very small handful of guys ask me if I could repro these...if I did they'd be in molded red fiberglass...but I've never readily seen full sets for sale (only 1), or anyone ready to fund the endeavor (just need someone to supply the parts), as I have no real interest/need in them...
One question no one seems to have the answer to regarding these?, "is what was the factory intended function of these?"

I HAD a NOS front one for a long time, we got it by mistake at 63436, and just sort of "put it in storage". We didn't even know what the H it was for when we got it ... Years later, after 63436 was done, and I moved to Florida, I kept it around for a while, and I THINK I gave it to Ted Stephens at a Garlits show one year. At least my buddy says I did. I didn't see much chance of finding more, and didn't much care for them anyway. Only other one I have ever seen was a left rear on a coupe, in a jy near Tampa, had been worn thru by the tire, So I left it where I found it.
It takes gasoline to interest me.

These were originally made using the plastic thermoforming process, that's how I'd have them made should I get some originals for patterns,
That's the way to go, but very expensive, the initial cash out lay for tooling, plus the minimum run required, will all determine the intial market cost...which the A body crowd really won't digest well ...but I know your well aware of that...good luck should you decide to pull that trigger

Yep, well aware, it's what I did for a living before moving on to injection molding.
