Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. From http://www.gotransam.com/news/index.cfm?cid=61799Cameron Lawrence retains TA2 Championship with victory at Daytona November 19, 2014 Amy Ruman takes TA victory, Jason Berkeley secures TA3 International Championship DAYTONA, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2014) – Cameron Lawrence secured the 2014 TA2 Championship from behind the wheel of the No. 1 Ctek/NorthStar Battery/ TI Automotive Dodge Challenger with a victory today at Daytona International Speedway, successfully repeating as TA2 Champion. The victory gives Dodge its first-ever driver’s Championship in Trans Am—remarkable given the heritage and history of the Series and the make. “I’m so happy for Dodge,” said Lawrence. “I’m incredibly lucky to be in this position working with a great team with a great car and all the people who have made this happen. I’m looking forward to keeping this going and seeing where it all takes us. It’s remarkable how close this Championship ended up being; we entered the weekend only a point ahead. We just took care of business all weekend long; the team worked so incredibly hard to give me the perfect car for the race—everyone deserves this, Miller Racing and Dodge.” The Championship places Cameron Lawrence into a select club of drivers who have won back-to-back Championships in the Trans Am Series, joining the likes of Peter Gregg, Wally Dallenbach, Jr., Mark Donohue, Tony Ave, Doug Peterson and Tommy Kendall, Lawrence’s teammate. “I think as long as we keep doing our job and taking care of business we’ll do well in TA2, but it’s definitely not easy,” said Lawrence. “It takes a lot of work to put something like this together, especially two years in a row; the competition is getting better and better. Adam Andretti put the pressure on us all year long; he’s a great driver with a great crew. In the end we just had a little bit more.” The win marked Lawrence’s seventh of the year, ending the season with 310 points, 21 more than runner up Adam Andretti and the No. 44 Engineered Components Chevrolet Camaro. As remarkable as this seasons winner is, when tossing around past achievements, drivers and cars in respect to Dodge, they really should include the 60's Bob Tullius Dodge Dart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkICeDCzKbEI was heading over to Daytona to watch this season's ending races, but weather was iffy, and changed my mind, didn't know a Challenger was in contention

That had to be a multi class race?, there was hardly a car on the track that could run with him. Of course if it was an LS motor, then . Ironically for me, I just spent the last 8 hours walking that track at the Turkey run swap meet. The video showed very little shake when he curbed the car, was that an anti shake feature of the camera? It was a good video.

You'll like this!.. Sounds like a Hemi & kicks butt like Petty's 64 did. Make sure you watch the whole video so you don't miss out on how he apparently laps the field & the vettes can't hang with the Hemi.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMzsgD94HFc
Love it!
Anyone got info/link to the engine specs? Someone told me they were running Chevy LS based motors till a Dodge Motor was developed?
I kind of doubt (actually i think its total horse $h!+) that SRT Motorsports would back a car with anything but a HEMI. I suspect nothing more than a rumor started by a butt hurt Chevy loving hillbilly that thinks the LS was created by Gods own forge.

On the Utube comments, Cameron says its a 6.2 with aluminum heads... I would think it's a Hemi. Hang onto your seat when you watch this Vid of the Lime Rock T/A race. Look like the LS camaro of Andretti pulls him, but the outcome is what matters. Hemi gets it done! These TA2 cars are limited to under 500 HP.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sX0vNIJHnU

Yes, they run TA, TA2 and TA3 together. The TA class is the most highly modified and highest power of the three with TA3 being the most stock based cars.
TA is where the Vettes dominate. TA3 also has more than a few Vettes but there are a few Vipers, Porsches, BMW, and Mustangs in TA3 also and one Viper finished in 4th overall in TA3.

I'm aware that a major issue of concern within TA2 is with the body panels -- some of the cars have been running panels this year 2014 that will not be allowed next year 2015. Body templates will become more enforced for these cars so that they resemble the actual factory panels more closely (certain mods are allowed, such as fender flaring, etc). Roof lines, windshield angles, overall body width, etc., are at issue and has been with the aerodynamics -- next year will be more interesting.
