on one of my 500" motors, I spun the cam bearings and bent the cam. i'm rebuilding the motor now. my cam spec is: comp roller 272/276 @.050 .649" with 1.6 rockers. 108 centerline. I run this same cam in 3 other motors. all street cars.

question is, I have a spare cam that specs:cmi roller 276/283 @.050 .737"/.672" with 1.6 rockers. 107/115 centerline. to use this cam instead of buying a new one, would be nice. would this cam be to aggressive for a street car?

motor specs: 500"
sr 295
13.1
indy dualplane
1000 ho AED CARB
with the old cam, the motor made 700 hp. not really looking for more power, just would like to use this old cam....

If you liked the old one, I'd run it. Sounds like a pretty wild street motor anyway. Intake duration isn't much larger. LCA is 111, pretty wide at that duration. What was the LCA of the old cam?

Comp can fix that cam, I've had several roller lifters fail on the same cam two different times and Comp fix it both times real well I would call them to get a return authorization number and send it in to see if it is fixable

Sounds like na old cam motion grind, I blieve Indy sells them now. A healthy lift! I have used that cam in a couple of build ups in a 3.75 and 4.15 stroke street engines. With the longer stroke it was very versatile, making even ecent low end tq. And I had less CR than you, a pump gas engine.

From what you posted, that cam will be fine. You have enough CR to run it. The only thing, the cam will be harder on the valve train (springs, etc.). Also, check to make sure your intake spring setup can accommadate that much lift with the 1.6 rockers.

When you say 107/115 centerline, do you mean you install it with the intake lobe center at 107 ATC and the exhaust lobe center at 115 BTC? ie. 111 lobe separation angle (LSA)
