I'm finally starting to work on our RT and I have a question regarding rust repair. I'm working on the DS fender and the outside sheetmetal is pretty nice but not perfect. The inner brace running along the aft side of the fender is pretty bad and needs replaced. I have a doner fender with a good brace and I'm looking for opinions on where to make the splice and if I should consider transplanting outside sheetmetal as well. Thanks.

I would open up the pinch welds on the bottom of both fenders, then I would splice in the outside bottom of the good fender onto the fender you are going to use. Then I would clean everything properly and splice in the brace (I would have the car available with the door on it for test fitting at this stage). You might even be able to hammer sand at the original brace (from both sides) and save it but probably not.
