I recently saw my 4th major car museum, my ranking ( )

1. Garlits, very race car drag oriented, suggest approx 2 hrs, Fla
2. NHRA, very race car, not just drag, suggest 2 hours, LA
3. Harrahs, wide selection, exotics, and 100's of rare cars 20's up quite impressive, include some racing cars, would recommend , suggest approx 3 hours Reno NV
4. Petersen. only two real race cars, seemed to have more effort devoted to LA history and "hot wheels", was very disappointed, can be seen in 1.5 hour

At lot of the above is dependent on how fast and how much one like to read.

Anybody like to comment or suggest others I'd like to add to my list for future visits?.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Went to the US Nationals a couple years ago and mosied down the road to the Indianapolis Speedway, real cool museum in there. Mostly open wheel stuff, but there was some drag race stuff too.

And also, how many uninterested members of your family are with you.

Garlits was awesome though. Try to visit when he is having his "Mopars with Big Daddy" car show, and you get nice eye-candy inside and outside.

If you ever get the chance, check out Otis Chandlers Museum in Oxnard California. Private car collection is open only a few times a year.

As mentioned above, if you're in the area check out the Nethercutt in Sylmar, California.
