With my W-9 motor I used to change out roller lifters all the time by fishing them up through the cylinder head with a telescoping magnet and a stiff piece of wire and a flashlight. In this case all you have to do is remove the valve cover rockers and pushrods. That motor used to eat lifters. Just sayin.

Will the comp 828 come out without taking off the heads? Indy heads
I have edelbrock heads and my 828s won't come out with the heads on.
Same here, Eddy heads, comp roller lifters, close but no cigar with the heads on.

The 59 degree angle (carried over from the poly days)certainly doesn't help as the angle makes it worse for removal. Although the 9.58" deck is taller than SBC and SBF but it doesn't seem to help at all.
I believe the high camlocation is the biggest isue

I can take out my Crane ultra pro's with the heads on my 408, its tight and i have to wiggle them around but they will go.
Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.
