I'm thinking of supercharging this winter and was wondering if anyone out there is running a d1sc. I plan on running efi and was debating if I need to intercool or should I run water injection or nothing at all. not really shooting for a particular power level just want something with a little more power.

engine is a .030 over 440 stock stroke and 9.5-10:1 compression. edelbrock heads. will also be running a megasquirt efi system. I'm currently running a .557 mopar cam with 1.6 ratio crane rockers but am willing to change it if it makes sense. car is a 4spd and mainly a street cruiser if that makes a difference.

I am new to the SuperCharger engines, but mine has an A&A Vortec SuperCharger on a LS3 engine and has a intercooler.Even if a intercooler was not needed I think I would run one to be on the safe side.I would read the instructions and try to follow them as close as possible.
As for the 4-speed manual trans it will work great and be a blast driving it on the street.Mine has a manual 6 speed and for street driving an maybe a little track time & street racing there is no way I would change it over to a Automatic.
I would use all MSD dist.,coil & MSD box with the upgrade as well. And after you get it going the only thing left you will need is a set of DOT Drag Radials!

are you running an air to air intercooler or an air to water intercooler?

How are you going to mount the head unit? The Vortech V7 YSi that I am gonna put on my 496 will be hung on a plate (the one that came with my stuff is steel but I am going to try to make one from 3/4" alum) that mounts on front of the water pump and will tie into the motor plate and frame for stiffness. What about pulleys and belts? There is no kit for this as far as I know.

I have a E85 blow through Dominator. The hat for that carb is ginourmous and will have extend higher than the cowl hood, especially with the tall intake that is on the motor. I was going to run non-intercooled and try to keep the boost low enough to keep belts from breaking. Hopefully 10-1 CR and about 10-12 PSI will be OK with the E-85. May need some meth.

depends on how much boost you are going to run. Meth/H2O is the easiest. I ran an old Paxton SN2000 with a modified impeller on a very mild cast piston 440. Was a lot of fun. The 557 isn't the best cam choice for boost. If you can find a boost grind and swap out the cam.

i make serpentine belt drive kits for mopars now so making a few new pulleys and brackets are no problems. i have 3 cnc mills and 7 cnc turning centers at my disposal as long as they don't have jobs running in them.

ideally I'd like to mount the supercharger on the passenger side. also i want to keep my ac. how many ribs for the supercharger belt? currently I've got 7 ribs on my serpentine kit. thought about running one of the newer kenne bell or whipple roots style superchargers so i can manifold mount it instead. with that manifold mount i can do an air to water intercooler. ideally i didn't want to run water as that's one more thing i have to fill up with every tank of fuel.

It is a fairly large air-air intercooler mounted in front of the radiator. It has 10.7-1 CR and runs on 93 octane pump gas.

It is nice that there is a kit for a Corvette. None for a BB in an A body.

It might be a little harder to fab up one for a Mopar, but it will be time and $$$ well spent. Its unreal to have a True mid 9 second street car with all the options that will cruise down the road at 40 mph and run on 93 octane gas.No to mention the Fun of driving it!

This is relavent to my interests...

As I just so happen to have a Procharger D1 that is going in a Fuel Injected 440 that is similar build.

I need brackets, and pulleys!!!!

I also have CNC equipment to use, Two Horizontals, two verticals, and two 8-axis turn-Mills.

My goal is to keep the power steering.

with only 5 ribs I'm surprised your not getting slippage? or are you not running a lot of boost?

My Challenger is seven rib on the engine side, that turns a jackshaft that has a cog belt from it to the head. It's a P1sc on a 6.1 hemi.
Glad to see you moving into Procharger brackets!

I will check the dyno sheet in the morning for boost but it made 1,017 rear wheel horse-power and run 9:38-9:42 in the 1/4 mile with 3:42 gears(True Street 9 sec. street car) at SGMSP through the exhaust on DOT Drag Radials leaving @ 2500 RPM 6-speed manual trans with a good bit of wheel spin.I drove the car 135+ miles one way and the only change I made was lower the rear tire air pressure from 28-18 lbs.I now run the rear tires @ 27lbs on the road & 17lbs if I want to make a hit.The engine does have quite a few upgrades. The car looks like a stock Corvette.

PS I was more interested in the Horse-Power than boost!

whats the difference between the p1sc and d1sc? also are the vortech superchargers better or not as good as the prochargers?

ideally for myself first, I'm trying to make an all in one modern kit. so high amp alternator, zf power steering pump, sanden ac compressor and a centrifugal supercharger all on one belt. not looking for peak power just want some boost.

If you want a Procharger set up with everything you need for a big block Mopar, call The Supercharger Store. That's where my D1SC kit came from, on my 496 raised deck. It's a 12 rib system, currently running a moderate 6psi of boost. Very clean, slick set up.

their kit won't work with all the modern accessories I run. I tried calling them first. I agree they have a nice kit if you want use all the stock stuff. I'm hoping also to passenger side mount the supercharger, so I can keep my battery in the engine compartment.
