Maybe 8 hours run time total...... Using -6 line to carb and parts of stock 5/16 line and -6 line as the return..... It is getting power and no go???.. Does it need to be cleaned??? rebuild kit?? or just get a holley black pump with my summit discount coupon??
Pump is located below the fuel cell and using a russel metal filter on the feed side before the pump. I should mention I tried this same pump while using my stock,rusty gas tank and after it plugged up the filter 5 times, I chucked it in favor of an nice aluminum RCI cell......

The inlet line needs to be bigger than the feed line. #8 min or even better #10 line(1/2") I know people will say theirs works great with 5/16" suction line, but that has not been my experience.
Many blue pump failures and vapor lock situations occure because of line sizing.imo
Your filter should be on the outlet side of the pump so the pump gets full flow from the tank now that you have a clean fuel cell and you can strain your fuel when you add it.

You don't think all that rust going thru that poor pump didn't shorten it's life? I know you had a filter in front of the pump but the rust still get's to the pump. Been there.

I have had three (3) uno dos tres of those junk pumps go bad on me. ALL three (3) uno dos tres leaked. One of the pumps came with the summit fuel cell kit I bought 2 yrs ago and have 700 +/- miles used. The other 2 were pumps to replace the original leaky pos. I run a return line also. I have since bought the aeromotive (2) and haven't had any problems. I'm thinkin' those Kung Pow Holleys aren't from around here. Last time I will ever buy a Horrey pump.

ooooooooooh.... I undastand gwasshoppa.... Has any used a rebuild kit on one of these?? I am going to take it apart and check it out just for fun and see what the deal is. It worked just fine up until I had it towed home 2 months ago..... AS far as the filters go, I have a 40 micron? size filter before the pump. I also have larger fram paper filter bofore it goes up to the carbs. When I put the new cell in, I changed the paper filter and there was definately evidence of rust particles inside so the pump had some crap run through it for sure. The pre-pump filter was not a paper element, just more of a screen type so the really fine particles would still make it through.
I think they offer a rebuild kit so should I try it and see what happens or just get a new one??? I will report back with what the guts of the pump looks like.... TBF

The 67 Cuda had a blue pump and it shorted out
and had a little fire, so I orded another and it lasted for years.
Had a blue on the 65 Sport Fury for 4 years.
A few 4x4 toys I had, and a racing partner and I ran
a low 8 second front engine dragster on a blue.
We even use a Holley blue pump as a water pump for a
water cooled 40 hp 5 cylinder 2stage compressor.
Easy to rebuild, last for years.
Now, the 70 Cuda runs a B.G. 400, you want to
talk about noise! 
Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

Both of them had less than two hours time on them. Put a Mallory in it and it has been working great for a year now. It is much quieter too.
