In continuing to research before I start working I was looking for the best method of removing paint and rust. I came across this company and their demo videos. Looks interesting and cost effective.

Any body used this method and if so what were your results.

Thanks. FIXED

As an IT guy, you might be a little more forthcoming on the company that impressed you.

Sorry, in my haste to get to my grand daughters 3rd birthday party I forgot the URL. It's fixed now.

Glad you got a sense of humor or thick skin or both

That process is new to me, it looks neat, it uses water, correct?

Looks very interesting... fast strip and no warping. The compressor size (185 CFM) far exceeds most home or even professional shop capabilities. For example, I have a 5 (true) HP 2 stage 230 V compressor that puts out around 15 CFM. It runs a DA just fine. You would need about a dozen of that size compressor to get the job done plus a bigger electric service or diesel engine to drive it.

It seems like a good piece of equipment for a dedicated stripping or blasting shop however.

Had a guy do my 66 Bronco with that stuff, did a good stripping job but made a HUGE mess.

Found this also. I might give this a try. Saw another video where they used glass media.

Google 'water sand blaster', and you get this 2 part YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUx1RZKfB-E

"My DIY wet sand blasting setup using modified pot pressure blasting tank and pressure washer with sand attachment" from Harbor Freight and Northern Tool for a few hundred bucks. Compressor is 1.8 hp, 26 gal, run at 40 psi.

"What you are looking for is a steady stream of sand at the lowest possible pressure. Will take some adjustment to get just right but below 40psi should get you were you need to be with some adjustment at the ball valve."

Looks like he is doing almost 1 sq ft per minute.

A friend is using a similar combo with pressure washer and sand blaster, and he really likes it.

I believe a phosphoric acid such as Rust Cure would be good for flash rusting and stopping additional rusting for a few weeks/months. I've primered over Rust Cure many times with excellent results. It's about the same as using self etching primer.

Two weeks ago the guy came to my house and did it in the driveway. The car was on my rotisserie. My only regret is that I didn't have him do more of the car. He did the underside, the front subframe, rad support, engine bay, inside the trunk and the floor inside the car. This cost $500. Well worth it. I shoveled up the stuff on the driveway, and then hosed off the rest into the grass. I spent a bunch of hours getting the glass out of the nooks and crannies, and I am not done yet. But it is the thing to do, I will do it again.
