What are you guys doing to clean up the fiberglass box when the heater is apart for a rebuild/reseal? I just pulled out nearly a cubic foot of debris/sticks/turds from my cowl vent leading into the box and want to get it nice and clean before doing the new foam kit I just received.

Soap and water?
Castrol SuperClean?
Simple Green?

I have a bead blaster and powder coater for the metal stuff.

I pressure washed mine with just water and no chemicals.

I'd use some dish soap in a 5 gallon bucket with a scrub brush. No exp with CSC or SG but I hear they are good & depending on their intended app if they remove oily residue they'd be a better choice if you have oily residue that needs to be removed on/in the box but for non oily basic dirt cleaning highly likely dish soap would get that fiberglass looking real nice

I used a de-greaser called "Solvs-it" or Mean green. No harse scrubby and it looks great.

I just washed mine with soap/water. My Challenger box was nice enough to not need anything else once it was clean. The box in my Dart still looked bad after it was cleaned. I scuffed it and then sprayed it with a clear coat.(semi-gloss) That brought back the shine and made it look new again.

Well, OK then. We'll start trying from the bottom up. Bucket of water, soapy water, pressure washer, fire from space. The Challenger is NASTY in all the little crevices.

If you have a bad one you can lightly soda blast and then coat with matt clear or semi gloss clear. It brings back the original color and finish.

Start with the basics first,,simple soap and water.
From there I'll use simple green and either a stiff bristle brush and a stiff paint brush to get in the little nooks and cranies.

If all else fails "LIGHTLY' glass bead it and clear with Eastwoods satin clear finish.
