is it necessary to deck plate hone a filled block? it seems to my pea brain that it wouldn't be.
for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

I have mine done(with the plates) after filling the block. Some say they have measured the change, I'll take their word for it

I even went a step further and torqued a head down as well as the mains while the block fill was seting up. Probably overkill
