These are pretty common for Street Rod and such now. You can get them with aluminum pump bodies (1.4lbs lighter than identical iron version). Like this: http://www.detroitspeed.com/Steering/090901-aluminum-steering-pump.htmlI bought this at the Fall Fling show last Saturday for $5. I figured it would be a no brainer aluminum housing (most are iron) for mockup. This turned out to be brand spanking new, just covered in dust!!  They also use this same pump housing setup in Circle Track cars for remote reservoirs and AN fittings. I've also got a used KRC pump and remote reservoir and lines for mockup. Deal is the "Dodge 360" bracket KRC sells is for a Magnum motor and you have to add a brace to make it work: http://www.jegs.com/i/KRC/612/31515000/10002/-1?parentProductId=Quote:

I think because KRC list's a "Dodge 360" bracket, the rest of the aftermarket thinks the market is covered for this part/need.

I have made brackets, twice, for that pump. First on the BB, and then to my Gen III. Real easy to make. I cant remember if I used a SB Chevy block mount or head mount bracket, but those are relatively cheap and using those you can make a mount to adapt them to your engine with some 1/4" aluminum plate. Heres a pic of the BB.....

If anyone is interested, I have this mount and the V belt aluminum pulley still. Shaft on mine is .662 ish. Another thing of note is the smaller the shaft diameter, the bigger (better) the bearing is on these pumps.

The .662 is the diameter of the one I have pictures in my first post.
The KRC I have has the same diameter where it meets the seal (and I assume bearing). But the KRC has a different end to take a nut and spline type pulley.

This power steering pump offers the same performance characteristics as our other pumps, and it saves 1.4 pounds over the cast iron version. The aluminum housing has a cast aluminum finish and the integral reservoir makes for a clean, compact package.
Tech Tip: Pulleys must be installed with proper power steering pulley installation tool; KD Tool #2897. Do not use a hydraulic press!
Note: You will need to add a pressure fitting to your GM Type II pump to complete this hose kit. You can choose from 091702 hardline pressure tube, 090401 outlet fitting, or 091801 banjo pressure fitting.
I'm guessing the flow rate and PSI are in this same ballpark for other parts store replacement units.
I do not think this is specially made for Detroit Speed and Engineering. IMHO, it's a new off the shelf replacement unit for some production car. I don't know that for sure, but I have a strong feeling.

Hey cool! I have one of those pumps too!  I was going to use it on a 572 engine I was going to build. So this can be used on a Gen 3 engine right? What pulley and other stuff would I need? Part numbers? Thanks!

I agree Steve^^^^. These pumps are used on Cummins Dodges, SRT's, Malibus, Corvettes, Vipers, Cherokees, and some Imports. The GM models are where the reservoir came from on yours and mine though, but I cant tell you what model. The Mopars usually have a funky detached/semi-remote reservoir, that is fine, but ugly.

The actual pump is very small. This is the pump the Circle Track racing power steering manufacturers have chosen to design their systems around and produce aftermarket custom parts for. There are flow control valves readily available to change the flow rate and other parts to change the PSI.
It's a proven unit with less expensive and readily available parts for you individual customization.

See, this is what I like about it... Whenever I look at pictures of people who put turbos on small blocks in A-bodies, they always say they had to convert to a manual steering box because the old pump was in the way. If I ever decide to go that route, it's nice to know there is another option to aid having both PS and boost.

KRC, Speedway, CV Products, and lots of other Circle Track supply places make lots of aluminum pulleys for it. I have an aluminum V-groove pulley that is 6" diameter. Don't know if that is the diameter I need, just picked it up for cheap to start mockup.
