Has anyone tried a single 4bbl tunnel ram for the strip? Would like to put a tunnel ram on my mild race 440 but would rather not deal with dual quads. If anyone has made it work please let me know some details?

Thanks.

Haven't tried a single 4 bbl but they make the tops for a single so there must be something to them. Probably give you the same effect as a single 4 bbl on a crossram - like an STR14 - just a different visual impact.

Single 4bbl tunnel rams are notorious for fuel distribution problems, two small 4bbl's will be easier to tune & make more power....

I was afraid of the fuel distribution issue. Going on a gasser style 33 coupe so wanted the tunnel ram look. I may try 2 600 edelbrocks and see how they work...Here is the project, ignore the BBChevy it is gone.

We ran a tunnel ram with two edel's on a pretty much stock 383 with a MP cam and it ran better than the single plane 4 bbl. Now running a Indy ram with two 830's on a 499.

I run 2 Holley 750dp carbs on the street with no problem. They run better the the single 850 i had on it. The only problem with them is paying at the pump.

I am not sure how well they would perform; however the long tube cross rams would look awesome on your car.

I would run two small four barrels over a single four barrel on a tunnel ram as well. They aren't hard to setup.
