Hey guys, Some time ago I read about some availability problems with the JW bell? I'd like to adapt a T400 to an A engine. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Sean

Do Reid bellhousings fit a stock case TH400? I was under the impression they were for the Reid cases only.

I thought they did. I had the option of the Reid case or the JW. I'd call Reid and ask.

I'm using one. It's straight forward. Call them and check stock.

Too late...I got a decent t400 for it...HEY if you'd a-had a t400 in yours, I'd still be looking for E85 in Ohio. lol Anyway I'll check out the Reid option because when I call JW they told me (as I suspected) you'd have to modify the bell in the starter area, (voiding the recert!!!) NO PLANS to redesign on their end. I guess until someone sues them for being bumped at tech for an illegal bell. From what I remember reading for the big block you'd have to leave a bellhousing bolt out as well. So, I am going to have a guy here machine up a 3/8" thick mid-plate adapter for the BOP case. Steff, how you doing brother? I don't know how I don't remember how you made that adaptation.

Modify the bell? I didn't have to do that.

I looked into it... if you use the mini-starter, you don't have to modify anything.
