I know this has been discussed many times on this and other sites and I am considering repairing a 69 charger grill headlight surround. I thought about using the ABS plastic and the acetone trick but I need to know what the ABS looks like and where do you get it.I use PVC all the time, but I think I have some ABS. It is the black thin pipe that you use for draining? I've used it for condensate drain on an a/c before. Or has anyone used a plastic welder/glue you can buy in a tube with the same success?
With my time restraints lately, I've considered sending this thing to someone who does this repair all the time. Anyone have any suggestions on who to send it to?

I bought a thin 10x12 sheet from Ebay. It's black ABS and i can cut supports from it or shave it off and mix with Acetone. I think I paid $3 shipped.

I just did the grille for my 69 Charger.

to repairs cracks I used a product called TECHBOND... awesome stuff. highly recommnend.

to fill cracks or make a small section, use a product called Plasti fix... also very good.

neither are cheap or available at a store.. online only..

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is available on ebay or local distributors that sell plastics in sheet or rectangular or round stock. You want a small sheet.

I tried the acetone/abs repair on a cuda grill and didn't like it at all. I don't think I did anything wrong but the repair was never very strong and sometimes just broke apart. Just my experience with it, maybe it works well for others. In the end I just melted it back together with a smoothing tip on a soldering gun. That worked the best for me!

I keep broken busted grilles on hand , just to cut them up into little pieces.
Drop said pieces in jar of acetone to make a paste / glue.

Did maybe a half dozen grilles over the past 2 years . repairing numerous cracks, replacing pieces , sections etc etc.

No issues to date on any of them

I am assuming that the grill itself is made out of ABS plastic?
