Need help with Edelbrock DP4B inatake from 1970's for 383 - the stock throttle brackets don't line up with the mounting hole in manifold, what does a finished bracket end up looking like? Did Edelbrock supply throttle brackets that did fit and require no mods to work?

Also - what is the hole in the top of the manifold for, the hole just below the water/nitroous injection threaded port, it leads a channel that flows out the bottom of the manifold. Some DP4B's didn't have this hole/channel cast into them. Thanks men!

My stock brackets worked on mine, they are suppose to be cast like a cast iorn one so shoud;nt be a problem if you have the right brackets

The intake is a little taller but a stock bracket works, if you need to clearance yours for it to fit that is fine but I don't remember having to do it with my 69 bracket ?

Water water nitrous injection port ???

Don't worry about that hole passage as long as it is not an exh leak.

back in the day i used the orignal '68 bracket when i went to the dp4b. the later 2 hole brackets may have an issue with the wider runners.

Okay great I really appreciate the info. Here is the bracket style being used and has the protrusion at tip (circled) doesn't allow the holes to line up.

Here's a similar/different B engine throttle bracket that may be a direct fit for DP4B - since it doesn't have any protrusion cast into this 'style.' What have you all done to the style (above; w/protrusion) to get it to fit?

Here are the two 'ports' in question; one under carb leading into plenum is threaded and all DP4B's I've seen have always been plugged.

The other hole below that - I've seen a golf tee plugging it in one guy's...

the lower hole connects to the heat crossover and is for a tube that would connect to the hot air choke of the older 3310 holley. with the advent of electric chokes this port isn't needed. the port up by the plenum is just vacuum take-off port. plug it if it's not needed.

Great to know this bit of info. So the coil was moved to accommodate the 3310 Holleys, too, and the choke ports. Those two hot choke holes will need plugged some way when running other carbs.

Which of the two Mopar B engine throttle brackets pictured above did you men have no install issues with? From the looks they both appear to be too thick at the mounting hole area...

is this a trick question ???

Grind it till it fits.

I do not remember grinding on my bracket , but it might have been like the lower , I'd have to dig thru boxes of parts to figure it out , the car has been apart for about 14yrs .

Glad to update this old thread I started a few months ago. Here is the '70 B engine throttle bracket after grinding off the area (shown above) to clear the DP4B's #7 runner.
