What do you have on your cars and what should i stay away from--Thanks guys
What kind of suspension do you have, or perhaps what do you WANT to have when you're done? Once yoy start looking, there are lots of good choices out there and cost is going to be a factor just like function will.
Wouldn't it be convenient if we could find great handling-related questions in one specific sub-forum?

Would depend on what you do or plan to do with the car. If drag racing I would spend the buck for a better quality adjustable shock both front and rear. The more you have for adjustment the more you can tune the chassis

For street applications we use KYB's almost exclusively

If you are drag racing there is no better 90/10 than the Calverts for the front. 100.00 for the pair.

As far as A bodies....here goes....
I, too have had all the shocks and have found my custom Bilsteins to be the best so far. The edelbrocks were weird to say the least and really far off in valving for the rear if memory serves me. Since they are a fit all piece they are too long for a lowered A body like mine. I also used Varishocks which are basically the same as QA1s, but with American internals. Either way, they are twin tube shocks with and oil restricter, not true adjustability like advertised. Definitely not a heavy duty piece in my opinion, and after 3 rebuilds, I was proved correct. The valving for the rear of an A body was poor at the lower settings (below 5 clicks) and I needed 10-11 clicks of 16 on the front to control the motion of my 1.04s, and the ride was harsh to say the least.
Just my .02.

Every time you drive your car, you get to enjoy money spent on quality shocks. It really makes a huge difference in your cars manners and operational safety.
For general ride quality, street hoolliganisim and stepping beyond into autocross etc they go from from cheapest to most expensive Bilstien's, Koni's then double adjustable QA1's with performance following the cost. It's hard to beat Bilstien's for general street romping.
For drag racing, there are other choices, but the QA1's have the adjustability to help set up the car to balance the weight transfer.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)
