Hello, this is my first post here.

My father just bought a '55 Belvedere that we are going to be doing some major surgery to .

The car in the pic isn't his, but it is in very good shape.

We are going to rod it a bit, it will get a 300C interior and a a 472 HEMI.

Do any of you know if there is a electronically controlled overdrive tranny that will bolt up to the HEMI and survive?

Welcome,

You will get many points of views but a 727 with a bolt on overdrive (Gear vendors) will be hard to beat as far as being heavy duty.

Another alternative is the GM based Keisler automatic transmission.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

The Belvedere is the newest member of the collection.

Here are some of her garage mates.

'33 Dodge with a 330 Desoto Hemi with Hillborn injection.

"63 vert and a '62 413 Max Wedge Savoy

'68 AMX 390 4-speed

'48 P-15 vert

There is also a '68 340 cuda, a '34 Plymouth Coupe (stock), a '47 p-15 Rod with a 340 six pack, and an SRT-4 Neon.

I'll have to duck now , here is my ride and my current project.

Notice the difference between our garages .

'68 Fastback

'68 Cougar

Thanks!

So you guys think that a 727 with a gear vendors overdrive is the way to go?

I agree, Fords are 2nd on my list after my Mopars. Oh and an e-body 8 3/4 will bolt right in where that old style sissy one is. Did a 56 Desoto a year or so ago and put 4 wheel disc brakes on it too.
