From the outside, I used a utility knife and kept cutting away the material until I was celar down to the sheet metal. Then, from the inside, I worked a modified putty knife to "pull out" the adhesive. I took a cheap harbor freight putty knife and ground a hook on the end. I also bent the blade a little bit so I could have a good hold. Took about two hours of work. I did not even think about putting pressure on the glass until I could fish the putty knife all the way around the glass. The butyl stays pretty sticky so a little even force to puch the glass out was still needed after I went around the window a few times.
